full Saturday

Usually we take it easy on weekends as it is our chance to sleep more and relax a bit. But last Saturday was no ordinary day for us.

Woke up at past 9 to prepare breaky, at the same time book a return flight to the Philippines. At 1040, ate breakfast real fast because we were expecting some people to service the aircon units. They came around past 11and left before 12. Just in time to finish the house chores I was doing.. By 130 we left the house to meet up with, Tita Kreng, a family friend-cum travel mate in Italy last 2000. She arrived last wed to attend a seminar on thurs and friday and left yesterday morning. So sat was the only chance to meet up with her. Anyway, we met at the cityhall mrt (again-the usually meeting place) and headed to a friend's place in Bishan (northside of Singapore). We didn't stay long in Bishan-got there before 4 and left before 430. Getting there was quite easy via mrt and a cab. Going back to the mrt station was quite difficult. We had to walk under the heat of the sun and go up the overpass. I was quite hesitant to use the overpass-I didn't want to take the risk since it might cause me to bleed later-but I had no choice. The pedestrian crossing was very far. So I had to go up and down the stairs slowly and carefully, luckily didn't feel any pain and no bleeding after-whew! Tita Kreng invited us to have mirienda. So we brought her to Orchard Road (she was quite curious about Takashimaya-apparently a friend told her that she'd find japanese stuff in Takashimaya-hehe!) and grabbed some snack at Food Republic in Wisma Atria. We ate Poh piah (chinese version of our lumpiang sariwa-but poh piah is a little spicy), Hok kien noodles, some dimsum and soft shell crabs-yum! Actually that was quite heavy for mirienda. Anyway, after our so called snack, we walked to Takashimaya and saw the Chinese food fair at the Atrium-in preparation for chinese new year. There were all sorts of egg rolls, love letters (equivalent to our barquillos) and all sorts of cookies-fortune cookies, walnut cookies, chinese blah blah cookies, etc.Tita Kreng 2 cans of walnut cookies for her staff and for her kids (i think). And Joey, Nate and I enjoyed the endless free taste of all sorts of chinese snacks. Then we headed to Lucky Plaza so Tita Kreng could buy some ref magnets. She bought 8 pieces for 20sgd. By 7 pm, we returned to the city area (in Esplanade) where she would be meeting her former BPI staff. We took a bus and got off right infront of Esplanade (thank God didnt have to walk far) and brought Tita Kreng exactly to their meeting place, a resto named "No sign board"-otherwise she'd get lost. We bid each other farewell and the three of us (Joey, Nate and I) looked for another resto where we could have dinner with BIL (bro-in-law) No'Paul and an old friend, Archie.

We met each other at 8 by the theatres at the bay and since Joey and I weren't able to find a good resto, we decided to eat at the hawker beside Esplanade. Lots of food again for dinner-sizzling beef, chicken wings, fried rice, baby kailan in oyster sauce and some mixed veggies with tofu. Since I was with 4 boys, actually 3 men and a boy, we were able to finish everything over our never ending kwentos and querries. Archie is new in town. His family, wife n 2 kids, will be coming this april, so he is quite curious to know about life/family life here. Nathan was already restless by past 9, his psp battery turned lo bat, so he no longer could keep still-bwahaha! We decided to call it a night by 1030. Arrived the house at 1130. The three of us were just soo tired and we dozed off as soon as we hit the bed.
